Muscogee (Creek) Nation serves employee health needs with new clinic

Muscogee (Creek) Nation opens employee health clinic with no out-of-pocket expenses

OKMULGEE, Oklahoma — The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Department of Health (MCNDOH) opened the Vtotkvlke Employee Health Clinic Nov. 20 in Okmulgee. The clinic will serve Muscogee

(Creek) Nation Tribal and Health employees and insured dependents with no out-of-pocket expense to the patient.

The Employee Health Clinic will provide primary care and urgent care appointments. The Employee Health Clinic will not require or collect co-pays or deductibles. The clinic will bill

the employee’s insurance plan.

“The clinic will operate in a way that is similar to the clinics we already operate. No co-pays or deductibles will be collected. We will bill the employee’s insurance,” Terry said.

In addition to reduced patient expenses, it will save the Nation money. The employee clinic will focus on disease management such as diabetes and heart disease.

“The clinic will include a disease management component. We want to help employees with diabetes, heart disease and other chronic conditions. This helps the employee live a healthier life and it reduces the cost to the Nation,” Terry said. “Three percent of the employee population creates 40 percent of the cost.”

The Employee Health Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. The clinic is open during lunch hours. For employees or dependents who do not have a chart already established at a current clinic, they should call the Employee clinic to set up a chart so that they can minimize wait time when they arrive for their appointment.

Muscogee (Creek) Nation Tribal employees, Health employees and dependents on the Muscogee

(Creek) Nation employee insurance plan are eligible for services at the Employee Health Clinic.

Gaming employees and dependents on any insurance plan other than the MCN plan are not eligible.

What is the cost of the Employee Health Clinic?

The Employee Health Clinic will not charge or collect insurance copays or deductibles. MCN will

bill the employees insurance for services. There are no out-of-pocket expenses to employees.

What if I am sick and need an appointment?

Employees can call for a same day appointment. The Employee Health Clinic will call the employee

when the provider is ready to see them. The employee will come to the clinic with no minimal wait

Times.
