Call for Mvskoke Artists | Sapulpa Health Center

The Muscogee Nation Department of Health is seeking Mvskoke artists to submit qualifications for original artwork to be considered for placement throughout the new Sapulpa Health Center.
The facility’s central theme is Muscogee language preservation, and selected artwork will help create a welcoming, culturally grounded environment for patients, families, visitors and employees.

About the Sapulpa Health Center
The new Sapulpa Health Center will expand access to high-quality, culturally grounded health care for Muscogee citizens and Native families. Designed as a place of healing, connection and belonging, the facility will reflect the identity and values of the Muscogee Nation.
Throughout the building, Mvskoke language, stories and cultural knowledge will create meaningful connections between past, present and future generations. Artwork should support a welcoming health care environment while exploring themes such as family, community, wellness, nature, place, identity, traditional knowledge and intergenerational learning.
Project Description
MCN Health is seeking the services of Mvskoke artists to produce artwork for placement throughout the Sapulpa Health Center.
Artwork should complement the facility’s focus on Muscogee language preservation and may be placed in public and employee areas. Artwork may incorporate Mvskoke words or phrases, but language is not required in every piece.
All appropriate media will be considered, including:
- Paintings
- Photography
- Prints
- Textiles
- Sculpture
- Mixed media
Artists may work remotely and correspond with project staff by email and phone. Submission does not guarantee selection or purchase.
Qualification Requirements
Please include the following with your submission:
- Images of up to five pieces of artwork related to the project theme or a portfolio relevant to the project description.
- A copy of the artist’s Muscogee Nation citizenship card or CDIB card showing proof of Muscogee descendancy.
- For each submitted work, include:
- Artist name
- Year completed
- Title
- Description
- Dimensions
- Medium
- Price
- For proposed or commissioned work, include:
- Concept description
- Anticipated dimensions
- Medium
- Estimated price
- Projected completion timeline
Electronic images must be clear and suitable for review.
Selection Considerations
Submissions will be reviewed based on:
- Connection to Muscogee language preservation and the facility theme
- Artistic quality, originality and craftsmanship
- Cultural appropriateness and accuracy
- Overall balance of artwork throughout the facility
Artist Agreement
Selected artist(s) must agree to release the physical artwork to the Muscogee Nation Department of Health upon purchase.
The Nation may photograph and reproduce images of the artwork for educational purposes related to MCN Health and Muscogee language preservation. Final terms will be included in the artist agreement upon purchase.

Late or incomplete submissions may not be considered.
