MCN Health Celebrates 100th Robotic Surgery Milestone
TULSA, OK — The Muscogee Nation Department of Health made history in October 2023, when Council Oak Comprehensive Healthcare became the first Tribal healthcare facility in the lower 48 United States to perform minimally invasive surgery using the da Vinci XI robotic system. Now, almost a year after that historic event, MCN Health is celebrating the remarkable milestone of completing 100 robotic-assisted surgeries. “This milestone highlights the expertise of our surgical team and our ongoing commitment to delivering the best possible outcomes for our patients,” said Tim Hicks, Chief Operating Officer – Hospital Services. “The da Vinci robot has allowed us to offer more precise, minimally invasive procedures, and reaching this milestone is a testament to the quality of care we are proud to be providing to our people.” Since the introduction of the da Vinci XI system, MCN Health has performed a wide range of procedures, including general surgery, urology, gynecology, and more. The system’s precision enables surgeons to operate with enhanced accuracy, resulting in quicker recovery times and an improved patient experience.
