Well-known experts on diabetes, health, and nutritional knowledge have been invited to share their expertise with the citizens of the Muscogee Nation.

The summit will include:

• Free health screenings

• Physical activity breakout sessions

• Community health survey

• Health & wellness exhibitors

• Giveaways and more

This event is primarily for MCN citizens, their spouses, and significant support persons. However, American Indians living within the Muscogee Nation Reservation are also welcome to attend.

Featured Presenter: Dr. Catherine Gaffney

Dr. Gaffney is the Medical Director for The Kirk Center for Bariatrics at Bailey Medical Center and serves as the MBSAQIP Obesity Medicine Director. She graduated from the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1996 and completed her residency at Scott & White Hospital in Texas. Since joining Utica Park in 2004, she has treated thousands of patients and is a strong advocate for understanding morbid obesity as a chronic and treatable condition.

Dr. Gaffney regularly speaks at continuing education events and contributes to media outlets to raise awareness about the complexity of obesity. She enjoys exercising and spending time with her family.
