Okemah Hospital Recognized Among Top Hospitals in Oklahoma

OKEMAH, OK — Creek Nation Community Hospital has been recognized with two prestigious awards in Oklahoma from the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) through its Medicare Beneficiary Quality Improvement Project (MBQIP).
The hospital earned recognition as Best in Patient Satisfaction and Top Overall Performer among Oklahoma hospitals.
These awards place MCN Health and Creek Nation Community Hospital (CNCH) among the top-performing facilities in Oklahoma, underscoring its excellence in patient care, safety, and satisfaction. CNCH is a Critical Access Hospital serving the southern half of the Muscogee Reservation, providing essential healthcare services to rural communities and tribal citizens.
“This recognition is all about our staff,” said Shawn Terry, Secretary of Health for the Muscogee Nation. “From the moment a patient walks in the door to the time they go home, every member of this team shows compassion and skill. To see Okemah recognized as one of the best hospitals in Oklahoma is something we can all celebrate.”
Catherine Vass, Administrator of CNCH, added: “Our staff are some of the most caring and hardworking people. They go above and beyond every single day for our patients and this community. This honor belongs to them.”
A reception was hosted for staff on Friday to celebrate the achievement. Dr. Melonie King, Chief of Staff for CNCH added, “This hospital is a critical part of our community, and we take pride in caring for our neighbors and their families. We’ve always known we have a special team here.”
MBQIP evaluates hospitals across the country, measuring both quality of care and patient experiences. CNCH’s achievement shows the impact of high-quality care delivered close to home and the difference it makes for patients and families in the region.
