MCN Health Hosts Largest Pink Party in History: “The Greatest Show in Pink”
TULSA, OK — The Muscogee Nation Department of Health (MCN Health) hosted its 23rd Annual Pink Party on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa. Themed “The Greatest Show in Pink,” this year’s event transformed the ballroom into a lively, circus-inspired celebration honoring 93 breast cancer survivors and their families.
More than 700 guests attended the event, making it the largest Pink Party in MCN Health history. The annual celebration brings together survivors, caregivers, families, and community members to raise awareness for women’s health and promote the importance of early detection and screening.
“Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among Native women — but that’s not going to be the story for Muscogee women,” said Secretary of Health Shawn Terry. “We are committed to changing that narrative through access to preventive care, education, and early screening across every community we serve.”
The program featured remarks from Principal Chief David W. Hill and Secretary Terry, followed by a powerful survivor panel moderated by Muscogee Nation Press Secretary Jason Salsman. Panelists included Jean Froman and her granddaughter Reagan Whitlow Reyes, and Tamara Bighead and her daughter Tiara Billie, who shared heartfelt stories about survivorship and family support.
A candlelight tribute honored the lives of those who have battled breast cancer and those who have walked alongside them and supported them. Guests enjoyed a brunch with live circus performances, photo opportunities, and educational booths hosted by MCN Health programs and Muscogee Nation vendors.
Among the vendors was Cheyenne Kelly (Yuchi/Mvskoke) of Indigenous Ink, who provided information on paramedical tattoo services that can aid in healing for those who have experienced breast cancer.
The Pink Party is part of MCN Health’s broader mission to advance women’s health through education, prevention, and compassionate care.
