Medical Device Recall Notice – Blood Glucose Meters

MCN Health has been notified of a recall involving certain TRUE METRIX blood glucose meters that have been provided to patients.

What you need to know:

• Some devices may display an E-5 error code, which can indicate:
  • A very high blood sugar reading (greater than 600 mg/dL), or
  • A test strip error that may result in an inaccurate reading

What you should do:

• If you see an E-5 error code, retest using a new test strip
• If the error continues and you have symptoms (such as fatigue, excessive thirst, frequent urination, or blurry vision), seek medical care immediately
• If you are unsure about your reading or device, please contact your healthcare provider
