MCN Health Announces Community Health Initiatives During National Public Health Week
TULSA, OK ā This National Public Health Week, MCN Health is announcing several initiatives focused on improving access to care, supporting prevention, and strengthening overall community health.
Through its Public Health department, MCN Health has installed Health Resource Vending Machines in Okmulgee, Eufaula, and Okemah as part of the Sko Get Tested campaign.
These machines provide free, confidential health resources for individuals living within the Reservation, including HIV/STD testing kits, pregnancy tests, hygiene kits, and baby wipes.
This initiative is designed to reduce barriers and make it easier for individuals to know their status and protect their health.
In addition to expanding access to testing and prevention resources, Public Health is also launching new partnerships to support overall wellness across the Reservation.
Through a partnership with the YMCA, Public Health is providing Muscogee Nation citizens access to reduced membership rates at participating YMCA locations. Public Health and the YMCA will also host yoga classes throughout the summer at Riverwalk in Jenks, creating more opportunities for physical activity and community connection.
Public Health is also partnering with local farmers and grocery stores to provide food vouchers for fresh fruits and vegetables, helping improve access to nutritious foods for individuals and families.
Together, these efforts reflect a broader approach to public health, one that addresses both access to care and the everyday factors that impact health.
